Privacy notice
Last updated: 2 October 2026
This is a translation. If the English and Arabic versions differ, the Arabic version applies.
This notice explains how Wonderline handles your personal data when you order from this website, in line with Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020.
1. Who is responsible for your data
- Seller
- Wonderline
2. What we collect
- Full name, email address, main phone number and an additional phone number.
- Delivery address: two address lines, area/district and governorate.
- Order details: books, quantities and amounts, the language you used, and the time you agreed to the terms and to this notice.
We do not ask for national ID numbers or payment-card details. The additional phone number may belong to someone else; please only give it with that person’s permission.
3. Why we use it, and on what basis
- To perform the contract: confirming, preparing and delivering your order, contacting you about it by email, phone and WhatsApp, sending your order confirmation, and handling returns and refunds.
- Legal obligation: keeping records of orders, invoices and payments.
- Your explicit consent: storing the data with service providers outside Egypt (see section 5).
We do not use your details for marketing, send newsletters, sell or share your data for advertising, or make automated decisions about you.
4. Who handles your data
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and the order database.
- Google (Google Sheets and Gmail): a private copy of each order in a spreadsheet only Wonderline can access, and sending order confirmation emails.
- WhatsApp (Meta): we message you there on your phone number to confirm your order and tell you it has shipped, and you can message us. We do not use it for marketing.
- The courier: the name, phone numbers and address needed to deliver.
5. Storage outside Egypt
The providers above (Cloudflare and Google) store and process data on servers outside Egypt. That is why we ask for your explicit consent, in a separate tick box, when you confirm your order. If you do not agree, the order cannot be placed through the site. You can withdraw your consent later by contacting us, and we will then delete your data unless the law requires us to keep it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep the order record for 5 years from the order date to meet record-keeping obligations. After that your personal details (name, contact details and address) are erased automatically, leaving an anonymous record of the amounts and books only. You can ask for deletion earlier and we will do it unless an open order, a dispute or a legal obligation prevents it.
7. Your rights
You have the right to know what data we hold about you and get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw your consent. Email m.ashraf@wonderlineart.com or message us on WhatsApp 01557020032 with your order number and we will reply within 6 working days. Using these rights is free.
You also have the right to complain to Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Centre.
8. Security and breach notification
The connection to the site is encrypted, only the shop owner can reach order data through a protected sign-in, and the order spreadsheet is private and unpublished. If a breach affects your data we will notify the Personal Data Protection Centre and you within the periods set by law.
9. Cookies and browser storage
The shop sets no cookies in a visitor’s browser, uses no advertising, analytics or tracking tools, loads nothing from other websites, and needs no account. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing that needs your consent.
The only thing kept in your browser is your cart (which books and how many), so it is still there when you come back. It holds no personal data, and you can remove it by emptying the cart or clearing this site’s data in your browser. Your name, phone numbers and address are not saved in your browser.
10. Children
Ordering from the site is for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger without a guardian’s consent.
11. Changes to this notice
If we change this notice we will publish the new version here with its date.
